General Rules, Filming Info & Submissions

  • If you have a disability or any other issue that impacts your ability to complete the titles, please let us know before filming your title and we will make every effort to accommodate this.
  • All dogs must be under control at all times when outside of the house, which could include being on a lead or longline, or using an enclosed field/garden for any off-lead tricks.
  • When training in public areas, it is your responsibility as an owner to ensure that your dog is under control and is not causing any disruption or danger to members of the public, and ensure you have legal access to the places you train and film.
  • No aversive tools should be used in videos. This includes front clip harnesses (with front clip in use), head collars, prong collars, check chains or e-collars. Tricks should be demonstrated on a basic collar/martingale, harness or naked.
  • Any videos showing inappropriate/discomfort behaviours, such as snarling, growling, showing teeth or any other intense avoidance behaviours, are not accepted and may result in a full disqualification and removal from the group.
  • Any videos of puppies (10 months and under) in non-dog-friendly places are not accepted. Any videos of non-assistance dogs in non-dog-friendly places will also not be accepted.
  • Banned breeds are welcome to take part, however, please ensure you are following the BSL laws in your area.

As a dog owner, it is your responsibility to ensure…

  • When in public, please ensure you follow local dog laws, such as picking up if your dog toilets and disposing of this appropriately, and please ensure your dog is microchipped, and has a suitable identification tag on their being.
  • Your dog is safe, and their needs are met whilst training for, and filming your titles. This includes training in appropriate weather, supplying water and staying aware of their health and wellbeing. This also includes only performing the tricks and criteria suitable for your dog’s age and ability.
  • Your dog has the appropriate healthcare. This includes vaccinations and/or titre testing, grooming as appropriate, and worm/flea/tick care as appropriate.
  • You are abiding by the local laws and requirements. This includes only training in dog-friendly spaces with pet dogs or young prospects, not causing a disruption to other people, keeping to paths near protected woodlands etc.
  • For any criteria involving others, particularly children and other animals, make sure your dog is well-socialised and safe to interact with them, as well as having permission from parents, owners or anyone else involved.

Filming Assessments & Awards

Filming & Submissions

  • All tricks/behaviours should be demonstrated three times unless stated otherwise.
  • All videos must show the dog’s full body.
  • All videos must have sound.
  • If you need any accommodations, please message us prior to filming.
  • Submissions can either be posted in the Facebook group, or sent via messenger. Please ensure you state your dog’s name, the name you’d like on your certificate, and your dog’s age.
  • Combining multiple demonstrations into one video is preferred and can speed up the assessment process but isn’t necessary.

Rules for Your Recordings/Videos

  • Dogs should not be physically corrected during practice runs or filmed assessment videos.
  • Dogs should be relaxed and show no intense avoidance or fearful body language. If your dog shows a typical stress signal (e.g. lip licking) as part of their usual body language (this is common in sled dogs for example), please notify us via PM prior to posting your videos.
  • Enthusiasm is encouraged, but the dog must be under control at all times.
  • No nose-to-nose interactions with smaller animals.
  • No bandanas or snoods.
  • Any chews or treats used in videos must be age/breed/species appropriate and must not contain rawhide or anything else unsafe for dogs.

Assessments

  • We aim to assess submissions within 1 week of receiving them. We then create your individual award certificate, and will send this along with confirmation of award. At this point, you can then order your additional rosette and certificate if you choose to do so.
  • Our assessors have been carefully chosen from their experience working with a range of dogs and owners from different backgrounds.
  • We do not require teams to be force-free to participate, but we do expect positive reinforcement only to be used for our titles.
  • Any verbal abuse or arguments with assessors or other members of the group will not be tolerated. If you have any concerns about another member, please contact us via PM. Any bulling or abusive behaviour will result in removal from the group.
